Colorado cowgirl

I was browsing through some of my old images and found this one that I took in Nevada.  In Carson City, there were lots of cowgirls and boys there but not so much here.  That’s not really my thing but my daughter would be one if she could.  She reminds me of the movie, “Flicka.”  She’s my spirited Mustang.  You gotta love this little ensemble though, even if you’re not prone to wearing cowboy boots.  They always looks darn cute on kids.

Lacy - watch out, ladies in this boy’s future! He’s taken (by my daughter, also 2).

Just had to share this new artist that my hubby told me about.  I adore her!  Hope you had a good Labor Day.  Ours started with watching hot-air balloons launch at 7 AM, chillin’ with my SIL, nappin’, reading “New Moon”, then going to the park where there was a fountain for the kids to get soaked in and finishing it all off with FREE chicken sandwiches at Chic-Fil-a.  I shoulda brought my camera to all these things because it couldn’t have been a better day!

These two were such fun.  Their Daddy stepped back and let me take over and just play with the girls while I captured their cuteness. I discovered that Little Mermaid was their favorite movie so we pretended to be characters in the movie (I was Ursula, of course) and let me tell you, they were getting so into it!  I just love that kids can get lost in their imaginations.

I found my girl out picking dandelions in the backyard, carefree as ever.  Oh, she’s getting so big!  Soon she will be 8 and then I’ll only have 10 more years for her to be home with me.  Did you know that you are only a parent for a third of your life?  Somedays it feels like forever but really, you don’t have your little ones with you for long so enjoy them.  That’s what I’m trying to remember with her even though we butt heads because she’s probably too much like me.  I sure love her though and am grateful God gave me at least one girl.  Girls are so fun and feminine!  Most boys just don’t have any inclination at all to go out and pick dandelions.
